Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on Nigerians to ensure that the country does not drift into a state of anarchy and lawlessness considering the spate of insecurity across the country.
The call came following the assassination attempt on his life on Saturday by some armed Herders.
The Governor on Sunday at a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Markurdi, gave thanks and praises to God for saving his life in the hands of the daredevil Herders.
Ortom however called on Nigerians with good conscience to save the country from drifting into anarchy and lawlessness.
Speaking further Governor Ortom wondered why a certain ethnic group in the country would be shielded and allowed to use its militia arm to wreck havoc on perceived enemies.
