Hajiya Inna Galadima of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has emerged the first female local government Chairman in Borno State.
She declared Chairman-elect of Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.
Galadima, a onetime commissioner and special adviser in Borno was declared winner by the Returning Officer of Jere LGA, Prof. Mohammed Konto.
Konto said she scored 110,459 votes to defeat her closest rival in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 2,478 votes.
Results from other LGAs in the Saturday’s election have started trickling in, with APC candidates in the lead.
