A gunmen attack at a police station along Enugu-Abakaliki highway on Monday night February 14, has left three policemen dead.
The gunmen opened fire on the policemen who reportedly mounted a roadblock in front of the station.
The gunmen were said to have been in a hummer bus, which the policemen may have mistaken for a commercial vehicle.
Remains of the police officers have been deposited in a mortuary.
Police spokesperson, in the state, Loveth Odah confirmed the incident but said she cannot give details of casualty figures until after a visit to the scene of the incident.
