Unknown gunmen have killed the village head of Usmanu, under Wurkun Chiefdom, in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, Mallam Dagachin Auwalu.
It was gathered that the traditional ruler was shot dead by the assailants at his residence on Sunday night, June 2, 2024.
The Chairman of Karim Lamido Local Government, Honorable Bitrus I. Danjos JP, who confirmed the incident on Monday, June 3, extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Usmanu.
In a solemn statement, Chairman Bitrus I. Danjos JP expressed profound sorrow over the untimely demise of Mallam Auwalu, who was a cherished member of the community.
“The recent assault by unidentified gunmen has not only shaken the foundations of Usmanu but has also deeply saddened the entire Karim Lamido Local Government,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Jalingo, Taraba State and troops with the Executive Chairman, Karim Lamido LGA Hon Bitrus Danjos visited Usmanu village to mourn and condole the people over the tragic incident.
