Secretary to Rumuokani Council of Chiefs, Godspower Kamalu and the youth president of the community, Ezebunwo Ike confirmed the killing.

Kamalu said;

“We slept last night, and when we woke up this morning, we heard that unknown gunmen just came into our community and shot one of our sons dead. We are now living in fear; we want the government to come to our aid. We don’t know if the people that killed him will come back to the community”

Ike on the other hand said;

“Last night, we heard gunshots, and when we got to the scene; we saw that one of our youths was lying dead in the pool of his own blood.

“Our community has remained peaceful, even when cultism was prominent in the area, but all of a sudden, we just discovered this last night.

The people that saw one or two movements said the people introduced themselves as the government. We describe them as unknown gunmen because we do not know them.

“If they are the government, are they supposed to kill somebody that is unarmed”?
