Plateau State Police Command on Friday, confirmed the killing of five persons by gunmen at Fobur community in Jos East Local Government Area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of the Plateau State Command, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident which occured on Friday morning.
The PPRO said security operatives were informed, immediately after the gunmen, had killed the victims and left the scene.
He said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area immediately alerted other security agencies, including Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), adding that security had been beefed up in the area.
The PPRO said it was not immediately ascertained the motives of the attackers as the area was not known for crisis, adding that security men were on the trail of the attackers.
