Unknown gunmen, suspected to be bandits invaded a Kogi state branch of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, a.k.a Winners Chapel, founded by Bishop David Oyedepo and abducted three persons.
The kidnappers reportedly invaded the church premises when members were holding a meeting over the weekend, and abducted no less than three persons.
The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Joseph Omuya Salami, who confirmed this to the newsmen on Monday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu, said the bandits, invaded the church’s branch at Osara community, on the Lokoja-Okene Road in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Salami informed that the gunmen shot endlessly into the air to scare the community, in the course of which they abducted their victims.
The council chairman said that he had visited the scene of the incident, alongside the Divisional Police Officer of Osara Division.
He said that the council was working with security agents to ensure the victims’ release.
