Gunmen have abducted some pupils of LGEA Primary School, Alwaza, Alwaza community, Doma local government area of Nasarawa state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Rahman Nansel who confirmed the abduction said it happened in the early hours of Friday.
According to him, a joint team of Police, military and vigilante men have been mobilised and dispatched on the trail of the abductors, reported to be on motorcycles.
He said an unspecified number of primary school pupils were taken away in the attack after the bandits reportedly laid siege while the children were reporting to school.
He said the whereabouts of the pupils and their abductors are still unknown at the moment but also confirmed that security personnel have been dispatched to ensure the pupils are rescued from the hands of their abductors safely
