The Coordinator of the Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Blessing Adagba, was abducted by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Thursday, April 4.
The incident, which occurred around midnight in the Okposhi Eheku community, has sent shockwaves through the local population.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants, disguised as soldiers, stormed her residence and demanded she open the door.
It was gathered that when she refused, questioning their identity, the men brandished firearms, overpowered her, and whisked her away to an unknown destination.
Confirming the incident, the Ebonyi State Police Command spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, said efforts are being made by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to ensure the safe rescue of the victim.
