Gunmen have abducted Harira Abdullahi, the wife of the District Head of Aboro in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Shuaibu Suleiman Galadima, alongside his daughter, Maryam Suleiman Galadima.
The incident occurred around 7:36 pm on Sunday, April 27, when the attackers stormed the district head’s residence and whisked away the two women, DailyTrust reports.
A resident of the community told the publication that residents immediately mobilised to rescue the abducted victims.
“But as we followed them into the bush to try and rescue the kidnapped persons, the gunmen opened fire on us. Sadly, they shot dead one of our members, Umar Abdullahi, and injured another, Suleiman, who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital,” he said.
He added that the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.
He called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the release of the abducted wife and daughter of the traditional ruler, and to ensure the safety of the community
