Mu’azu is a deputy director at the School of Undergraduate Studies at the college.

The kidnapped daughters, Maryam and Hafsat according to 21st Century Chronicle are students at the Federal University Gusau.

Maryam is in 400 Level and Hafsat 200 level.

The Chronicle, quoting Salisu Gusau, a neighbour of Mu’azu narrated how the attack occurred.

“The bandits stormed Mariri area where Mu’azu resides with his family at about early Friday, and went straight to the lecturer’s house.

“He said all efforts made by the bandits to get access to the lecturer’s part of the house proved abortive as he was said to have hid in the ceiling.

“They broke all the window panels and shattered the glasses but they couldn’t enter because of the high security iron burglars. So, they instead went to his wife’s section and took her away alongside the two daughters,” he added.

“Gusau said the abductors were yet to reach out to the family for ransom, adding that he called one of the daughters, Maryam’s line in the morning and one of the abductors answered but later switched off the phone”.

Registrar of the institution, Mohammed Adamu Bungudu has confirmed the kidnapping..

The spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command, Mohamed Shehu also confirmed the incident to Channels TV.

He said despatch search and rescue operatives have been dispatched to go after the abductors and ensure the rescue of the victims.
