Gunmen has abducted the Vicar of St. James’ Anglican Church, Ichi town in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State, Venerable Ekene Remigius Iroanusi.
He was kidnapped on Thursday, June 23, 2022, on his way back from a funeral ceremony at Nnewichi village, Nnewi town, Anambra State.
A church worker, Mr. Justice Anyanwu, who accompanied him to the funeral service was also kidnapped.
Advent Cable Network Nigeria Television (ACNNTV) reported that the kidnappers intercepted them along the road within Uruagu village.
The abductors are yet to communicate with either the family or the church.
Confirming the incident, Venerable Iluno of Nnewi Diocese asked all Christians to join in fervent prayers for the safe release of the victims.
