A non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organization; Heritage Ambassadors Network; on Thursday, gathered stakeholders which comprised of youths and other professionals in discussing the way forward for youths involvement in nation building.

The event which took place at the Felicia Hall of Crest FM, Akure, had as it’s theme: “Youths, Elections and Leadership Fiasco: Charting The Way Forward”.

In his opening address, the Convener of the discourse, who is also the President of the Heritage Ambassadors Network; Amb. Olusegun Lawal; stressed that the discourse was necessitated due to the gap in the practical involvement of young Nigerians in the nation’s political space.

While stressing that the future of the nation’s political leadership belongs to the youths, Amb. Lawal advocated for a mobilization system that will see young people effectively taking up roles in leadership positions and ultimately, in the nation’s building.

Lending his voice, the Chairman of the occasion; Chief Kemini Doubra; was of the hope that the discourse would help in resolving issues and challenges associated with youths active involvement in nation building.

The panelists which included Ondo renowned medical doctor; Dr. Wilson Ikubese, the Ondo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); Dr. Ahmed Abodunrin, the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Intergovernmental Relations; Hon. Bunmi Ademosu; who was ably represented by Barr. Alonge, a Chartered Accountant; Mr. Dayo Lomuwagun, and others, all gave useful tips in their various addresses, on the ways and wide range of opportunities available to young Nigerians in making the desired change and changing the narratives by getting more proactively involved in leadership activities and shunning corrupt practices.

The zenith of the event was the presentation of awards to deserving personalities which included Hon. Bola Ilori, Chief Kemini Doubra, Prince Adesanmi Afolabi and Rotarian Samuel Kolawole.

The event had in attendance youth corps members, students of secondary schools, representatives of youth bodies and others.
