Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has publicly rejected rumours linking him to a 2027 vice presidential bid, describing such claims as unfounded and politically distracting.

The governor made this clarification during a community event organised by the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, Radda categorically denied having any ambitions beyond his governorship.

“I’ve seen posters and messages suggesting I’m pursuing another office,” he said.

“Let me be clear, I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus. I am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfil the trust you’ve placed on me.”

The governor was in Dutsin-Ma to witness the distribution of 600 bags of maize and ₦5,000 cash to victims of insecurity—a humanitarian initiative driven by the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum.

Commending the forum’s efforts, he said: “Today demonstrates our shared value—caring for one another and standing together through tough times.”

Let me be clear, I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus. I am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfil the trust you’ve placed on me.

Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s focus on restoring peace and security, a major issue affecting the state.

“Security remains our topmost priority,” he said. “We’re working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina. We will never make promises we can’t keep, and our decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and fear of God.”

He also addressed local development concerns, revealing plans to extend the Dutsin-Ma waterway project to Charanchi and neighbouring communities.

Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, Dr Sabi’u Liadi, lauded the governor’s personal involvement.
“Your presence here today speaks volumes. You chose to come in person, and that shows the kind of leader you are.”

Dutsin-Ma Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Abdussalam-Shema, expressed the community’s admiration for the governor’s leadership.

“Without hesitation, we have endorsed Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results.”

In response, Governor Radda thanked the forum for the endorsement but emphasised divine guidance over political ambition.

“If it is the will of Almighty Allah and good for the people, it shall be,” he said. “But if not, I pray for Allah (SWT) to guide us to something even better.”
