Yobe state Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, on Wednesday visited the French embassy canvassing for partnership and foriegn investment into the state.

Gov. Buni said Yobe state is blessed with abundant agricultural and mineral deposits that can turn around the economic fortunes of the state.

“Yobe state has the finest Sesame seeds, limestone deposits and soda Ash in large commercial quantities awaiting to be tapped.

He said the transformation agenda of his administration is to build a strong and resilient economy that would fight poverty, insecurity and to help the people of the state recover their means of livelihood shattered by the Boko Haram insecurity.

“As we continuously record improvement in the security situation of the state, we are also building the economy to help our people and our state recover and stabilize”

According to the governor, the completion of the Damaturu international cargo airport, modern markets and Road networks would enhance commerce, Investment and economic growth.

He called on the French ambassador to partner the state through direct Investment and joint partnership.

The governor said he was passionate about creating employment opportunities to youth saying, this would curb crime and other forms of social vices.

Governor Buni presented a brochure of agricultural and mineral deposits abound in the state.

The French ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Jerome Pasquuer commended the Governor for making appreciable successes in provision of infrastructure and rebuilding the state.

“We appreciate your foresight and commitment to improve the lives of your people.

” We will talk to French investors in Nigeria and other potential investors who can invest in agriculture In Yobe state.

“The completion of the airport is a good news because, this will improve transportation and the economy” he said.
