Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar and his deputy Malam Umar Namadi have taken the AstraZeneca vaccine hours after the Federal Ministry of Health delivered the first consignment of the vaccine to the state.
Speaking shortly after receiving the vaccine at the Dutse government house clinic, Governor Badaru stated that, he and his deputy as well as members of the state executive council have received the vaccine.
He explained that he and other leaders took the vaccine to serve as an exemplary and also prove to the people of the state the vaccine is safe.
Governor Badaru added that the state has received a total of about 70,000 dosages of the vaccine from the federal ministry of health. and it will be administered to 35,000 persons.

The governor noted that after members of the state executive Ulamas and another religious leader would also be selected to receive the vaccine to led the public by example.
According to him, the first consignment of the vaccine would consider health workers, age persons, and people with complicated health conditions.

” We have already made all necessary preparation for the distribution of the vaccine to health facilities across the state where Solar powers refrigerators would be used for storage”.
Governor Badaru then called on the general public to dispel all negative rumors about the vaccine as president Buhari and Jigawa state executives have taken the vaccine and no sign of adversary effect.
