The Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has approved the appointment of eight new district heads to fill vacant traditional positions in the state.
The appointments were announced in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Sa’idu Maccido, following recommendations by the Council.
Those appointed are Salihu Kadadi as Sarkin Arewan Kadadi; Isah Gidan Madi as Ausan Gidan Madi; Gidado Dabagi as Sarkin Gabas Dabagin Ardo; Hayatu Dallatu as Uban Kasar Tudun Wada; Abdullahi Muhammed Danchadi as Sarkin Zamfaran Danchadi; Umar Shehu Goronyo as Sarkin Gabas Goronyo; Kabiru Marafa as Ajiyan Tsaki; and Muhammadu Buhari as Ardon Wajake.
According to the statement, the formal turbaning of the new district heads will be performed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, at a later date.
“The Sultan of Sokoto and the Sultanate Council congratulate the appointees for the well-deserved appointment and wish them a successful future and God’s guidance,” the statement said.
The Council urged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them and work towards peace and development in their respective domains.
