Ghanaian influencer Abu Trica has been extradited to the United States to face charges over an alleged $8 million romance scam targeting elderly Americans.
US authorities allege that the suspect was part of a network that defrauded elderly victims through online romance schemes, collecting millions of dollars in illicit proceeds.
The extradition was carried out following cooperation between Ghanaian law enforcement agencies and US officials.
Officials said the case forms part of ongoing efforts to crack down on transnational cybercrime syndicates that target vulnerable citizens.
Abu Trica is expected to appear before a US court to answer charges related to fraud, money laundering and conspiracy.
