Abdul’aziz, the son of former Kano State governor and APC national leader Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has paid a visit to Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso at his miller road residence in Kano.
The visit was confirmed by Saifullahi Hassan, a media aide to Senator Kwankwaso, in a Facebook post shared on Thursday.
The visit comes amid growing political tension in Kano, following the defection of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party in which Ganduje is a leading figure at the national level.
According to Hassan, Abdul’aziz Ganduje visited Kwankwaso as a mark of respect and to reaffirm his loyalty to the former Kano governor and NNPP leader.
The visit, which was accompanied by hundreds of supporters, immediately drew attention because of the long-standing political rivalry between Ganduje and Kwankwaso, two dominant figures who have shaped Kano politics for over two decades.
Photographs from the meeting, which circulated widely on social media, showed Abdulaziz Ganduje warmly received by Kwankwaso and key figures within the Kwankwasiyya political structure.
Although details of the meeting were not made public, it has generated considerable interest in the Kano political space.
