He said since coming on board in 2015 his administration has been engaging security agencies and leadership of the traditional institutions to proffer solutions towards protection of lives and properties of people of the State.

“Community policing project is our own…infact one of the essence our government created new emirates in the State is to expand the scope of community participation in the handling of security matters Ganduje said”.

He added that in 2020 the State community policing advisory committee was inaugurated under the Chairmanship of the Emir Of Kano while a community policing awareness campaign was also held in the State all as part of effort of enhancing community policing strategy.

Speaking earlier the Inspector General Of Police,Muhammad Adamu represented by the Assistant Inspector General Of Police in charge of zone 1 Sadiq Bello mentioned that the philosophy behind the introduction of community policing is to provide closer and friendly contact between the police and members of the community in order to enhance the security and safety of the community.

He further said plans have been rolled out for the engagement and utilisation of Special Constabulary in the implementation of community oriented policing framework for the establishment of partnership in the community and society in general.
