Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has regained his freedom from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command.
The ‘Zazzu’ crooner had purchased a N27m Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos), a car dealer in Lagos and paid only N13m refusing to pay the N14m balance.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benajmin Hundeyin, confirmed the release of the singer to channels Wednesday evening.
According to him, the singer was granted bail on Wednesday after spending Tuesday night in custody.
He said the singer and the car dealer are expected to return on a later date.
“He (Portable) has been released; he was granted bail on Wednesday to come back with the complainant later,” Hundeyin said, adding that “the outcome of that meeting will determine our next line of action.”
