Four men have been sentenced to a total of 95 years in prison for gang-raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl in Niger State.

The convicts are Salisu Baura, Lawali Sha’ibu, Haruna Sa’idu, and Bello, whose surname was not provided.

They are all residents of Kontagora town in Kontagora Local Government Area of the state.

They were found guilty on charges bordering on joint act and unlawful sexual intercourse with a child.

The conviction followed the case involving the minor, who was reported to have been sexually assaulted and impregnated.

The sentence adds to growing concern over sexual violence against minors and the need for stronger protection for children
