Alhaji Shehu Ishiye, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Dutsinma Development Forum (DDF), has called on Nigerians to support governments at all levels in the fight against banditry, insurgency and other forms of criminality.

Ishiye made the appeal in a statement signed by DDF’s Secretary, Alhaji Maikaita Abdullahi, and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

He made the appeal at the forum’s annual conference which was held at Dutsinma in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina state.

“Unity and peace of this country can only be achieved through individual and collective efforts especially in fighting insecurity and other factors militating economic development of the country.

”We must cooperate with our leaders in the ongoing battle to rid the country of all incidences of insecurity like banditry, kidnapping etc.”

Earlier, the newly elected chairman of the forum, Dr Sabiu Liadi, appreciated all members for their maturity, love and commitment during the election.

Liadi promised to partner other stakeholders for the benefit of the forum, Datsinma Local Government and Katsina State in general.

“I will extend the hand of friendship to everyone and assure to run an open door policy,’’ he said.

The chairman said that the new elected executives would usher in new projects that would touch on the lives of the people of Dutsinma and  environs.

Those elected are Dr Sabiu Liyadi as Chairman, Aliyu Ibrahim, Vice Chairman; Maikaita Abdullahi as Secretary, Bishir Ibrahim, Assistant Secretary and Hamza Abba Kasim as Financial Secretary.

Others are Ahamad Saad as the Treasurer, Adullahi Bature, Auditor;Kabir Yari, Welfare Secretary, Bishir Tanbu  and Kabir Sada as Publicity Secretary II.

The DDF is a development forum aimed at improvement the living standard of the people of the area and the state in general economically, socially and morally.
