Ayeniyi was chairman from 1999 to 2002 on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but died as an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain.

Mr Andrew Ogunsakin, Executive Chairman Okitipupa LGA, confirmed the demise of Ayeniyi in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Okitipupa by his media aide, Tosin Ayejusunle.

Ogunsakin described the late chairman as a highly revered leader whose life was marked by honour, dignity, and selfless service to humanity.

He noted that the deceased made remarkable contributions to grassroots governance and community development, leaving behind a legacy of impactful leadership and commitment to the progress of his people.

*Ayeniyi was a pillar of strength, a custodian of our cherished traditions, and a voice of wisdom whose counsel will be greatly missed.

“His passing is a significant loss, not only to his immediate family, but to Erinje Kingdom and Okitipupa LGA as a whole,” the chairman said.

Ogunsakin, however, prayed that God would grant the bereaved family and the entire Erinje community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while also praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased’ soul.
