Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal says the Federal government has not performed optimally in its responsibilities of advancing and developing the country from its inception till date.

The Governor stated this at the commissioning of the new6.2 billion naira Government House Annex, Bauchi, built by his counterpart, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, on Monday.

Tambuwal reflected that despite the poor deliverance of democratic dividends by the incumbent administration it is still the responsibility of Nigerians to encourage it to succeed.

According to him, if after due diligence and support by the citizens the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration still fails, the opposition political party- the PDP, which Governors Forum he chairs, looks forward to taking over the mantle of leadership at the center and many more states.

“We seek for your continuous support for the state governments; and, indeed, the Federal government because the federal government if it doesn’t perform… indeed, it is not performing. If it doesn’t perform it is affecting us. And, already it is affecting the entirety of Nigeria,” Gov Tambuwal posited.

Extolling the leadership values and acumen of his host, Gov. Muhammad of Bauchi state, the Sokoto state Governor described him as a ‘performing Governor’; and the project he commissioned as ‘epoch making’ one commenced over thirty 30 years ago but remained stalled until he assumed office.

He said this is a vindication of the collective values of the PDP governors who believe that government at all levels should be in perpetual continuity no matter to what party the successor of a project might be.

“That is why any project inherited by the PDP governors, be the predecessor in the opposition party, are completed,” Tambuwal emphasized.

Praising Governor Muhammad for his many feats and accomplishments, he said “the sky is your limit,” while adding that “all our governors are performing to the glory of God.

In his remarks, Gov. Muhammad of Bauchi expressed gratitude to the PDP-GF for allowing the state to host its meeting, which he described as epochal given that the state has never hosted as much number of governors since its creation, while hoping that the occasion will mark the beginning of the state’s renewal into the future.

Similarly, the Managing Director of M/S Architectronix Ltd, the firm handling the contract of the new Government House Annex, Architect Reuben Okoye, who said the strict that was on ground before he started working was “neglected,” and “became an eyesore” would be completely transformed.

Once completed next year, he stated, the 5,000 sq m of land will feature the Governors residence, a conference center and two mosques.

All the thirteen People’s Democratic Party (PDP) under the auspices of the party’s Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) as well as the Deputy Governor of Zamfara state were present at the occasion.
