Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko,Ondo State have suspended their three-day protest over hike in their tuition.
The decision to suspend the protest was reached on Wednesday afternoon after representatives of the students leaders, including Ijanusi Olawale, Arosoye Kunle and Adewumi Adebowale, met with the Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), at the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure.
A statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi, said the students agreed to call off the protest to allow the state government to wade into the matter .
Meanwhile, members of the university’s Governing Council will be meeting with the governor tomorrow to find a lasting solution to the issue.
