Ekiti State Governor and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, has met with delegates and other stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Gombe state to canvass support in a bid to actualise his presidential ambition.

He said as someone conversant with the challenges confronting the nation, including security, economy and job creation, his first task, if elected as president, would be to bolster the strength and size of the country’s Armed Forces to be able to withstand the nation’s security challenges using technology and improved intelligence gathering.
According to him, the economy plays a pivotal role in shaping the security architecture of the country.
He said his presidency would ensure a rapid economic growth and transformation that would be beneficial to all and sundry.
“With me on the seat, I have not just the capacity and capability but also the courage to tackle the myriad of challenges confronting the country,” he said.
The presidential hopeful told the leaders and members of the APC in Gombe State that they would not regret voting him as the party’s presidential flag bearer.

He said Fayemi’s exposure, knowledge, expertise and dexterity were ingredients that stood him out among his peers.
The governor said the APC delegates in the state are solidly united, assuring that they will put national interest above self as they prepare to elect the party’s presidential flag bearer.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Gombe state’s APC chairman, Mr Nitte Amangal, said the state chapter of the party would give a level playing ground to all contestants.
The Director-General of Fayemi campaign Organisation, Senator Lawal Shu’aibu, said given the political pedigree of Fayemi as a two-time governor, minister and a founding father of the APC, his experience is now more than ever before needed to change the fortunes of the country.
