The NGF Chairman said, Governor Sani Bello has done remarkably well in the reconstruction, rehabilitation and establishing of new roads in the state without undermining other sectors.

“I know as chairman of NGF the limited resources available to him to meet the yearnings of our people in Niger State. So it is a kudos to him for all these hard work”, he said.

He added that all the governors were doing their best to better their states which they have been doing through peer review and exchange of ideas in the NGF.

Governor Fayemi who also acknowleged that Niger State is the most endowed in the country with the availability of natural resources, commended Governor Sani Bello for taking the bull by its horn in providing the needed infrastructural facilities while combating insecurity in the State at the same time.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in his address, explained that on assumption of office he noted the deplorable condition of the Bosso Estate roads and saw the need to reconstruct and rehabilitate them for the people to enjoy dividends of democracy.

The Governor who expressed delight over the projects appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari who approved funds that were utilized for infrastructural development in the state that were hitherto difficult due to fall in crude oil and increased running cost.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Mamman Musa said the 4.3Km road reconstruction in Bosso Estate was awarded in 2018 and completed in 2020, despite delay experienced as a result of pausity of funds and the Covid 19 pandemic.

He commended Governor Sani Bello’s administration for revolutionising the state’s civil infrastructure and reassured that the Ministry will continue to ensure the actualisation of the vision of the present administration to ensure infrastructural development in the state.

Speaker Niger State House of Assembly Bawa Abdullahi Wuse who was represented by Members representing Bida 1 Bako Alfa and the Chairman Bosso Local Government Council Abubakar Gomna in their separate goodwill messages expressed delight over the projects and pledged their unalloyed support and commitment to the success of the present administration.

The Bosso Estate roads were constructed in the 80’s and 90’s and were mainly surface dressed without drainage system however Governor Abubakar Sani saw the need to reconstruct and rehabilitate some of the roads so as to close gaps in the infrastructural deficit particularly in urban areas, to improve the status of urban centres and to add to the aesthetics of urban areas making it liveable.

The development of these critical infrastructure is indeed cardinal to economic regeneration policy of the state government as it will guarantee access to market and other factors of production as well as provide alternative links to the Western-Bypass and aid free flow of traffic in the area thereby improving socio-economic life of the residents.
