Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to social media personality Verydarkman for claiming that he aided Bobrisky in dropping money laundering charges against her.

The ultimatum comes in response to a scathing viral audio allegedly belonging to Bobrisky released by VeryDarkMan on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

Bobrisky in the now controversial audio claimed she bribed some EFCC officials with N15,000,000 to drop the money laundering charges against her.

In the alleged voice call, Bobrisky also said that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and his son assisted in getting the charges dropped and keeping him out of prison.

However, Very Dark Man then alleged that Falz and his father, Femi Falana, a renowned SAN were the ones behind Bobrisky’s ordeal.

Reacting in a letter addressed to VeryDarkMan on Wednesday by Falana’s legal representative, Taiwo Olawanle, the legal expert demanded immediate retraction of the said publication as well as an apology from VeryDarkMan to be published in all the platforms within 24 hours.

It read in part, “The entire publication was a vicious, wicked and reckless ploy to impugn the reputation of our client and lower him in the estimation of right-thinking members of the public.

” We, therefore, demand an immediate retraction of the offensive and derogatory publication as well as an apology prominently published on all the platforms to which you have disseminated it without any justification whatsoever.

“Be advised that if we do not receive your formal retraction and apology as demanded within 24 (twenty-four) hours of the receipt hereof, we shall proceed with our client’s instructions to seek appropriate legal remedies, including monetary damages, against you for your incendiary publication and dissemination of defamatory statements,” part of the letter read.

Recall that Bobrisky was jailed for three months after pleading guilty to naira mutilation following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He was released on 5th August, 2024.
