A former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Bafarawa was the executive governor of Sokoto State in Nigeria from 29 May, 1999 to 29 May, 2007.
The former Governor, in a letter addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP, said he has now rededicated himself to a new youth movement with a transformative agenda.
The politician said he would now be solely focusing on creating avenues for youth empowerment and wishes to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
