.….NCC Leases Digital Park, Learning Centre To Enugu State Government For 15 Years
The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has operationally leased its Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre to the Enugu State Government for 15 years to widen access to digital skills across Nigeria.
The agreement was signed at the Enugu State Government House on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Under the deal, the state government will convert the learning centre into the Enugu Talent City and Artificial Intelligence, AI, Institute, in line with Governor Peter Mbah’s digital economy agenda.
NCC Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Maida, who led the Commission’s team to the signing, said the facility is designed as a hub for innovation, human capital development and entrepreneurship.
“Buildings alone do not create innovation. People do. Ideas do. Entrepreneurs do. Partnerships bring all these elements together,” Maida said.
He added that with the facility activated by Enugu State, young people will acquire 21st-century skills and entrepreneurs will transform ideas into viable businesses. He said the partnership supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Governor Mbah praised the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive governance and said AI is projected to add $20 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
“We believe our brightest talents should export their talents outside the country from here,” Mbah said, adding that the state will ensure the park is effectively utilized for job creation.
