The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Enugu State has formally recognized Dr. SKC Ogbonnia as the leader of the party in the state.

State Chairman, Dr. Johnpaul Anih, announced this on Saturday during the party’s 7th State Working Committee, SWC, meeting in Enugu.

Anih described Ogbonnia as a highly respected member whose contributions to the growth, stability and advancement of the NDC in Enugu could not be overlooked.

He said Ogbonnia is a distinguished statesman, accomplished professional and committed stakeholder whose experience, intellectual depth and dedication to democratic ideals have continued to strengthen the party.

According to him, the decision reflects the party’s appreciation of Ogbonnia’s stature, experience and contributions to the political development of the state.

“Dr SKC Ogbonnia remains our leader in Enugu State. He is a man of immense intellectual capacity, remarkable political sagacity and unquestionable pedigree. His contributions to the NDC and his commitment to the ideals upon which our party was founded are deeply appreciated,” Anih said.

The chairman added that the party would continue to accord respect and recognition to its founding members, elders and other stakeholders who have demonstrated commitment to the NDC.

He noted that the recognition is also part of efforts to strengthen internal cohesion, foster mutual respect among party organs and build a formidable structure ahead of forthcoming elections.

Anih urged members and supporters to rally around the leadership, remain steadfast and place the collective interest of the party above individual considerations.

He expressed confidence that with the support of leaders, stakeholders and grassroots members, the NDC would expand its footprint in Enugu and emerge as a formidable force in the next elections.
