The new police commissioner for Ekiti State Command, Moronkeji Adesina, has assumed duty with a promise to partner communities in the state in the pursuit of a more vigorous and effective community policing.
Adesina, who was the Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, Force CID, Force Headquarters, Abuja before his deployment to Ekiti State, took over from Tunde Mobayo, who has gone on retirement.
According to a press statement in Ado Ekiti on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, Sunday Abutu, “The commissioner promises to partner with the military, paramilitary, intelligence agencies and communities to enhance knowledge, deepen mutual understanding and develop a tight security architecture in the State”.
He said that Adesina, who promised that community partnership and respect for human rights would be his guiding philosophy, appealed to members of the public “to give maximum cooperation to the police as the Command under his watch is determined to partner with the community in pursuing a more vigorous and effective community policing”.
Abutu stated that the new commissioner for the command was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 1990. He was once a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Zone 11, Osogbo, Osun State”.
