He made this call on Thursday while speaking with the press immediately after the Eid prayers held at the Old Stadium in Lokoja

Governor Bello noted that although everything we desired as citizens might not be working out as such, we should continue to pray for our leaders across all spheres while we take personal responsibility to allow everything we desired work out beginning from our respective homes.

In his words “We must not tolerate criminals among ourselves, irrespective of the position which they occupy in our society. I urge each and every Muslims and Christians in the country to preach peace and not war”

He called on every citizens to accord deserving respect to authorities, knowing fully well that we must have a country before we could practice our respective religion.

“This is the time we must all come together as one, this is the time we must pray for our leaders. Many of these people calling for war have enough resources to take care of their family but we don’t, so we must protect our nation jealously”

Governor Bello expressed that those who have experienced war with several examples would not desire such event again hence we must come together and salvage this country as we collectively say no to violence, crimes and criminalities and the drum beats of war

He used the medium to appreciate all law enforcement agencies for their courage urging them to continue to deal with criminals and not to play politics with crimes and criminality

He also called on political leaders to desist from speaking discordance tunes while they remembered that the country had raised them to the point of relevance
