Ibrahim is in EFCC custody following handover by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

NDLEA operatives arrested him on September 3, 2026, along Maiduguri Road in Kano after discovering fake notes. NDLEA transferred suspect and exhibits to EFCC for further investigation and prosecution.

During handover at EFCC’s Kano Zonal Directorate, Acting Zonal Director Friday S. Ebelo received suspect and exhibits from NDLEA representative Yahaya Labaran. Both agencies reaffirmed commitment to strengthening cooperation against financial crimes.

Ebelo warned against “money doubling” scams, noting counterfeit currencies are used to defraud victims. He urged public to remain vigilant.

EFCC said Ibrahim will be arraigned after investigations.
