Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, has said that the State Command has put in place many strategies to stem the tide of security challenges bedevilling the state.
Yaro, who was newly deployed to the state, disclosed this in Benin on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council’s secretariat.
The Commissioner of Police promised to engender a smooth relationship with journalists in the state to ensure a crime-free state.
“What I have come to do is to foster a smooth relationship with the journalists to enable the police fight crime effectively,” he said.
In his response, Chairman, NUJ, Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, called for a symbiotic relationship between the police command and journalists with a view to giving the members of the public accurate information.
He emphasised that all hands must be on deck to keep Edo State safe for all.
