The Edo State Police Command has successfully rescued His Royal Highness, Friday Ehizojie, the kidnapped traditional ruler of Udo-Eguare community in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Enogie of Udo-Eguare was abducted on February 3 in a forest between Ubiaja and Udo community while traveling on a commercial motorcycle. Tragically, the motorcycle rider was shot dead during the incident.

According to the command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, the rescue was achieved on Friday through sustained search and rescue efforts involving the police and vigilantes.

“The command is pleased to inform the general public that the sustained search and rescue operations have yielded positive results,” Yamu stated.

He noted that the Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, fulfilled her promise of ensuring the ruler’s safe return. The operation was made possible through logistical support provided by the state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

The spokesperson expressed gratitude to vigilantes, hunters, and other residents who contributed to the operation and reiterated the command’s commitment to combating crime in the state.
