The police in Ebonyi state have arrested a suspected mentally challenged man identified as Kenneth Nwoha for allegedly hacking his wife, Mercy, and six-year-old son, Simpson, to death.
The suspect was arrested at Isiofumini village, Ishieke community area of the state on Wednesday, October 6.
According to eyewitnesses, Kenneth woke up in the morning and went berserk.
He killed his wife, son and then injured six other persons including a seven-year-old boy and a 60-year-old man.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Loveth Odah, said said he is currently undergoing a medical check-up to ascertain whether he is actually mentally-deranged.
The six victims who were critically attacked are receiving treatment at a hospital, while the remains of the slain have been deposited in a mortuary.”
