The Department of Security Services (DSS), Katsina Command, has confirmed the arrest of three suspected racketeers for defrauding job seekers of over N30 million in the state.

The Assistant Director Incharge of Operation and Intelligence, Suleiman Bello, made the disclosure on Thursday, 24 March 2022 at the command’s headquarters.

Bello noted that the racketeers are specialized in luring innocent jobs seekers into believing them by providing them with a fake appointment latter of Katsina Teachers Service Board (KTSB) and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The fraudsters have sold each of the fake appointment letter from between N200,000 to N500,000.

Those arrested include; Rilwanu Bala Tanwa (40 Muhammd Murtala Yahaya (46 years old) Abdulrahman Salisu (42 years old) and Nura Musa (35 Years Old).

He added that other suspects who are charged of harking were arrested at Unguwan Sanusi and Kwanan Farakwai village in Kaduna North and Igabi Local Government Areas of Kaduna State respectively.

The suspects, whom he said have successfully stole airtime worth thousands of naira, were identified as Imrana Yusuf (30 years), Abba Rabi’u (25 years) and Ahmed Musa of 23 years old.

Bello was qouted saying, “DSS Katsina Command under the leadership of Alhaji A. Ɗanja Abdullahi has successfully arrested syndicates of Suspected Hackers and Job racketeers that were tracked.

“They have defrauded unsuspecting Job Seekers money amounting to over 30 Million Naira,” he added.

Items recorved from them include: Two HP and Acer Laptop Computers, one Set of Desktop computer, two Flash Drives, copies of fake Appointment Letters, POS transaction receipt, Four Mobile Phones and Zenith Bank State of Account.

Also speaking, Bello said the suspects confessed to the various crimes and they would be charge to court after very soon.
