Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has warned Security and community leaders in Alkaleri local government area not to allow people with questionable character to settle in oil exploration areas.
He sounded the warning while addressing members of Government House Press Crew after the two days official visit to the local council.
Bala Mohammed who said the move was to ensure criminals were denied chances of perpetrating crime and criminality, maintained that citizens with good intention are free to settle in any part of the state.
He advised communities along the oil exploration area to profile migrants on the basis of their character and report any suspecious elements to security for prompt action.
While stressing on the economic potential endowed in the area, Bala Mohammed advised the host communities to take the advantage by being productive to improve their economy.
On the two days Community Engagement embarked upon at the local government, the Governor said the initiative was to inform them on the government’s to better their lives and to also provide them with opportunity to make observations
He appreciated all the stakeholders for their cooporation towards the success of the exercise.
