The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pasted the notice of verification of signatures of constituents submitted to it for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West).

The notice of verification, dated July 10 and signed by INEC’s Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, was pasted within and outside the INEC LGA office in Lokoja, as well as the INEC state office in the state capital.

“In accordance with Section 69 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), notice is hereby given that the verification for the recall of the member representing Kogi West Senatorial District shall hold on 19th August, 2017,” the notice said.

INEC also stated in the notice that the verification exercise for the recall of Senator Melaye will be held across the senatorial district between 8:00am and 2:00pm on the said date.
