Nigeria’s defence, security and law enforcement agencies have reaffirmed their commitment to work together to tackle terrorism, violent extremism and other threats to national security.
Spokespersons of the agencies made the pledge in Abuja on Wednesday during a Joint Security Press Briefing convened by the Directorate of Defence Information, Defence Headquarters.
The briefing brought together the Director of Defence Information, spokespersons of the Armed Forces, and representatives of other security and law enforcement agencies.
Speaking at the engagement, the agencies said sustained inter-agency collaboration remains critical to safeguarding lives, protecting property and defending national interests.
They highlighted ongoing coordinated operations against terrorism, banditry and criminal networks across the country, noting that intelligence sharing and strategic communication are now central to the nation’s security architecture.
“The unified approach reflects our shared resolve to act proactively, professionally and in a coordinated manner toward a safer and more prosperous Nigeria,” a joint statement from the briefing said.
The spokespersons also stressed the need for accurate information management to counter misinformation and build public trust in security operations.
They assured Nigerians that the agencies remain committed to synergy in planning, execution and communication of security activities.
The meeting is part of efforts to strengthen joint messaging and operational harmony among Nigeria’s security institutions under the #OneNigeria and #SecureNigeria framework.
