Dangote Refinery supplied only 34.15 percent of Nigeria’s 56.7 million liters of petrol per day consumption in October 2025.

This is according to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in its 2025 ‘State of the Midstream and Downstream Fact Sheet’ released at the weekend.

The data showed that in October 2025, the 650,000 barrel-per-day refinery’s daily petrol supply stood at 17.1 million liters, while imported petrol stood at 27.6 million liters.

According to the NMDPRA, the average daily consumption increased by 31.86 percent from 43 million liters in September.

Between October 2024 and October 2025, the authority said Nigeria consumed an average of 661.5 million liters of petrol each month.

Accordingly, Dangote refinery supplied an average of 18.03 million liters of petrol per day between October 2024 and October 2025.

On other refined products, NMDPRA said in October, Nigerians consumed an average of 17.13 million liters of diesel and 2.61 million liters of aviation fuel.

NMDPRA said the fact sheet was important as “the verified data underscored Nigeria’s strategic transformation in the energy sector, emphasizing reduced imports, strengthened domestic production, job creation, safety improvements, and economic stability.”

Meanwhile, in November, the Dangote Refinery, through its spokesperson Anthony Chiejina, announced that it supplied 45 million litres of petrol to the Nigerian market.
