Popular Nigerian singer, Oyindamola Emmanuel, also known as Dammy Krane has finally been released from police custody.
Dammy Krane was released on Thursday August 29 2024, six days after being arrested and detained by Davido over alleged defamation.
Davido, had given Dammy Krane 24 hours ultimatum to retract all offensive publications against him on his social media handles.
Davido’s lawyer, Chikaosolu Ojukwu, SAN, warned that failure by Dammy Krane to comply with the demands within the stipulated time frame will compel Davido to pursue all available legal remedies.
The Grammy award nominee also asked Dammy Krane to stop from further publication of defamatory statements against him on any platform in the letter.
Few days after Dammy Krane in a series of posts on his X handle, said he had been illegally arrested by police on Davido’s instructions.
The news of his release was announced by popular social media critic, Verydarkman, better called VDM.
In a now trending video on Instagram by VDM, Dammy Krane apologised to Davido for the allegations he had made against him.
Captioning the video, VDM wrote, “Dammykrane it out, dear @davido as you have honoured me by listening to my plea in less than 4hrs God will honour you. I believe God is giving him a second chance and I hope he focuses on his music moving on.
In the video, Dammy Krane said, “I want to say a big thank you to my brother. There are a lot of words that ought not to be said. I want to apologise for Tagbo’s death allegation. David is still my brother. And we are going to find a major ground to resolve everything.”
