Nigeria on Friday commenced its COVID-19 vaccination as Dr Cyprian Ngon a senior registrar at the National Hospital Abuja was the first to receive the jab of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
The vaccine was administered by Dr. Faisal Shuaib, Executive Director of NPHCDA, during the flag-off of the COVID19 vaccination drive in Abuja on Friday.
Ngon has been working at the COVID-19 isolation centre at the National Hospital, Abuja since March 2020.
After Ngon, then Nurse Faith E. Eragbai, Dr. Nuru Joseph, and Dr. Thairu Yunusa were also given the jab.
