An Ekiti State Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has revoked the bail earlier granted to All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Jumoke Abimbola Olawumi, over alleged blackmail, cyberbullying and death threats against the Chief Executive Officer of YSJ Limited, Yemisi Joluwe.

Olawumi was first arraigned on July 23 on a four-count charge.

She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail on self-recognition.

At the resumed hearing, her counsel, Ayokunle Odunayo Okunade, apologised for her absence, telling the court that she was unable to attend due to health challenges.

However, Police Prosecutor Samson Osobu opposed the explanation, arguing that the defendant’s absence was unjustified.

He told the court that despite claiming to be ill, Olawumi was allegedly active on social media on July 26 and 27, where she reportedly continued to abuse, threaten, bully and harass the complainant and other prominent personalities in Ekiti State.

Osobu argued that her actions amounted to a violation of the conditions of her bail and urged the court to revoke it and issue a bench warrant for her arrest.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun expressed disappointment over the defendant’s failure to appear in court, stressing that individuals granted bail are expected to comply with all court directives.

The court subsequently revoked Olawumi’s bail, issued a bench warrant for her arrest, and adjourned the case until August 17, 2026, for further hearing.
