An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday remanded two men, Abdullahi Sheidu and Mohammed Sanni in a Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged murder.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, who did not take the pleas of the defendants ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.
Adeosun adjourned the case until Oct. 7 for mention.
Sheidu, 37 and Sanni, 37, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a charge of murder.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Abiodun Bamidele, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Aug. 27 in Ado-Ekiti.
Bamidele said that the defendants murdered one Mr Odims Chukwuemeka.
He said that the defendants attacked and beat up Chukwuemeka, which led to severe injury and bleeding and later death.
He said that the offence contravened Section 234 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.(NAN)
