Nigerian comedian, Buchi Ojieh has called out his estranged wife, Rukky’s parents for allegedly denying him access to his kids.
Recalls that Buchi in September accused his former in-laws of “abducting” his kids.
In a series of recent posts on Instagram, the comedian alleged that his ex-wife’s parents, who are leaders in the Redeemed Christain Church of God, will not allow him to talk to his children.
His children are in their care in the United States following his separation from their daughter, Rukky.
He accused them of using his kids as “bargaining chips” while asking him to meet their exorbitant financial demands.
He further threatened to expose his ex-wife and her family if they continue withholding access to his children.
He added that he will not pay the $1300 they are demanding in order for him to be allowed to have phone conversations with his children.
He said their demands, which is in dollars, is something he cannot meet because he works in Nigeria and earns in Naira, so they should make do with the N300,000 he sends per month.
He added that he was perfectly capable of caring for his kids when they were in Nigeria before they were taken from him to the US
He wrote, “Mr n Mrs Salami… you people have my kids.. ur plan worked.. Am not fighting you.. U are leaders at The Redeemed Christian church there, I know for sure that RCCG Nigeria will not allow such.. U need to tell me why I can’t speak to my kids.. pls if u are in the US help me call the church .. The pastor know the matter! Leaders should lead by example.. #enoughisenough @james_fadel Pastor @james_fadel Pls look into this matter!!”
In another post, the comedian wrote, “Mr n Mrs SALAMI.. wake up!! U people asked me to pay to have access but it’s ‘child welfare’.. that anything I have I should pay first.. I paid the money.. una say e no reach more access is more money abi? 2ice communication a week is now 1 video call then vn abi? u can only call with ur fone.. u block me after every call until I don beg abi? okay make una take i can’t meet ur offer.. I work in Naira .. if it’s hard for you return my kids please!! gather ur evidence I have mine pls @james_fadel @febidahosa do u have friends in RCCG?pls Look into this matter becus it’s going to be a movement very soon..#daddydaughter”. (sic)
Buchi and Rukky got married in 2017 and the union is blessed with two children.
There were however rumours that their marriage hit the rocks last year over alleged violence.
