Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has formally admitted 68 legal practitioners into the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) during the 2026/2027 Legal Year ceremony
The elevation of the new SANs follows their approval by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) approximately three months ago.
The committee endorsed the nominees at its 174th plenary session, which was presided over by Kekere-Ekun.
According to a statement by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and LPPC Secretary, Kabir Eniola, the latest conferment comprises 67 advocates and one academic, Professor Nnamdi Onyeka Obiaraeri.
Obiaraeri was recognised for his “contributions to legal scholarship, making him the only academic among the 68 recipients.”
