The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has disowned a fraudulent press release circulating online that falsely claims the ongoing recruitment screening exercise has been postponed.

In a public disclaimer issued on Sunday, the board labeled the viral document as entirely fake and urged candidates and the general public to disregard its contents.

The counterfeit notice, which forged the header of the CDCFIB Secretary’s office, had alleged that administrative restructuring forced the board to delay the recruitment process until November 2026.

It also deceptively listed the official portal address while warning applicants against extortion, a tactic designed to lend credibility to the scam.

Setting the record straight, the CDCFIB maintained that there are no changes to the current recruitment timeline. The clarification comes precisely a week after the board published the names of successful candidates who passed the computer-based aptitude tests initially conducted in November 2025.

The board confirmed that the recruitment process remains fully on track, with the mandatory medical screening exercise for qualified applicants scheduled to begin nationwide on Monday, June 22, 2026.

The ongoing exercise affects applicants seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service.
